Renewable Energy Power Project by DDWL, India

This renewable energy project generates electricity using wind energy. With a total capacity of 30 MW, it aims to generate clean electricity using 15 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2 MW, located in Gujarat. This Wind Project will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, approximately 58,947 tCO2e annually, and displace 63,072 MWh/year of electricity from fossil fuel-based power plants in the Indian electricity grid. The total estimated emission reduction for the chosen renewable crediting period is 412,629 tCO2e. The promoter of this project activity is Dev-Dwarka Wind Project Limited (DDWL).

Project Impact and Benefits

Decent Work and Economic Growth - During the current monitoring period, Dev-Dwarka Wind Project Limited (DDWL) has conducted 4 training sessions to educate and build capacity. 10 individuals were successfully employed, contributing to the realization of SDG 8, which aims to promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

Affordable and Clean Energy - With the generation of 68,384.54 MWh of renewable energy, the project activity contributes to achieving SDG 7, which strives to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future.

Climate Action - Through emission reductions, this effort aligns with SDG 13, which calls for urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. By taking significant steps towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the project activity contributes to safeguarding our planet for future generations.
