CO2balance

CO2balance is a profit‑for‑purpose project developer that delivers community‑based impact projects in rural Africa, with a particular focus on hard‑to‑reach locations. It runs Safe Water Supply and Clean Cookstove Projects that deliver multiple Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) impacts, including climate mitigation alongside social and health benefits.

Beyond project development, CO2balance partners with organisations to measure and reduce their carbon emissions as part of a wider, holistic carbon management process, supporting both reduction and high‑quality offsetting strategies. With a track record of more than 20 years, the company has successfully issued carbon credits across more than a dozen African countries. It was also the first project developer to issue carbon credits under the Gold Standard’s “Gender Responsive” certification, achieved through its Safe Water Project in Uganda.
